Short Insight: The Universal Mark of dogs Aging Eyes in Cambodia


After staying here for a while, you’ll notice a detail: many senior dogs on the streets have a thin white film covering their eyeballs. This is a very common phenomenon locally.

 

This reflects the harsh living environment. Year-round intense sunlight and UV rays take a heavy toll on dogs outdoors. Since most are “free-roaming” without care, vision loss becomes an inevitable fate. Watching them navigate traffic by scent alone, you realize that both humans and animals here resist nature in the most primal ways.
